Job Description:
Join Miller Electric and help shape the next generation of industrial welding equipment! We're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to develop embedded control, communication, and mixed-signal hardware solutions that power industry-leading industrial welding equipment. In this role, you'll lead electrical hardware development from concept through production, influence hardware architecture, solve complex technical challenges, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver reliable products used in demanding industrial environments around the world. This is an onsite position located in Appleton, WI. Relocation is available for the right candidate.
• Lead the design, development, testing, and validation of electrical hardware systems for industrial equipment products.
• Develop embedded control, communication, analog, digital, and mixed-signal hardware solutions, including STM32-based embedded platforms, from concept through production release.
• Develop hardware architectures and translate system and product requirements into robust electrical hardware designs.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, welding, manufacturing, quality, and product management teams to deliver integrated product solutions.
• Perform component selection, circuit analysis, schematic capture, troubleshooting, validation testing, and technical documentation.
• Support PCB design, manufacturing introduction, and ongoing production activities.
• Participate in project planning, design reviews, technical decision-making, and risk mitigation activities.
• Support product lifecycle activities, including reliability improvements, component obsolescence management, manufacturing support, and field issue resolution.
• Contribute to the technical development of the organization through design reviews, technical mentorship, and knowledge sharing.
• Drive technical excellence through sound engineering judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
• Help identify and evaluate emerging technologies that enhance product performance, reliability, and customer value.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience developing electrical and electronic solutions for industrial products.
• Demonstrated ability to independently develop and deliver electrical hardware solutions from concept through production.
• Experience designing embedded microcontroller-based systems and analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuits.
• Experience with schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout support, troubleshooting, validation testing, and technical documentation.
• Experience supporting products through development, production release, and ongoing manufacturing support.
• 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience developing embedded control systems for industrial products.
• Experience with communications interfaces such as CAN, RS-485, Ethernet, USB, or similar protocols.
• Experience designing mixed-signal systems, including sensing, signal conditioning, and data acquisition circuits.
• Experience developing products to UL, CSA, CE, or similar regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting reliability improvements, root-cause investigations, and product lifecycle management.
• Experience developing products for electrically noisy or harsh industrial environments.
