Position: Sr. Electrical Design Engineer IV

Job Description:
  • In this role, you will work with engineers and managers company-wide to develop solutions for the physical layer.
  • Your day-to-day work will include developing telecom pathway, space, and cabling designs, along with specifications for construction.
  • As a team member, your work will be scoped to assigned projects and deliverables and coordinated closely with your FTE sponsor.
  • This engagement offers a chance to apply and expand your expertise on high-impact AWS infrastructure while operating within the defined scope.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop scalable inside- and outside-plant designs, including drawings and specifications, for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate building designs with MEP and CSA teams.
  • Review and approve ICT space, pathway, cabling, and equipment submittals.
  • Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively, escalating to your FTE sponsor as appropriate.
  • Perform construction administration: review and respond to RFIs, review and approve submittals, and conduct field surveys.
  • Generate site reports based on field conditions.
  • Work and coordinate with construction teams to arrive at expedited solutions.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience in mission critical environments.
  • 5+ years of experience developing design documentation (plans, specifications, etc.) for construction or permitting.
  • 5+ years of working experience with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standards.
  • Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities, including but not limited to data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
  • Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent (e.g., CDCDP, DCDC).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
  • Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and the MS Office Suite.
  • Prior experience working as a contingent or contract engineer within a large enterprise environment.
