Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking an experienced Senior Director, Product Management with superior knowledge, leadership, analytical, strategic, and mentorship skills to be part of our fast-growing blade server product management team. This individual drives the strategic vision, product lifecycle, and market success of Supermicro blade solutions. This leadership role bridges complex hardware architecture (cooling, power, networking, and compute density) with business growth, team mentoring, and cross-functional execution. This position will be based at our headquarters located in San Jose, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Strategy & Road Mapping: Define the long-term vision, go-to-market strategies, and product roadmap for blade server portfolios based on data center and cloud computing trends.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and scale a high-performing team of product managers, ensuring cohesiveness and excellence in product lifecycle execution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with hardware and software engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to deliver scalable, high-quality server platforms.
  • Sales & Marketing Enablement: Equip field teams and business development by building technical collateral, competitive analyses, and pricing strategies.
  • Customer Engagement: Represent the organization in high-level client meetings, gather feedback directly from Tier-1 customers, and translate specific use cases into actionable product requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field; master's degree or MBA is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 18+ years in server system architecture or data center hardware product management, with at least 5+ years in formal people management and strategic leadership.
  • Technical Acumen: In-depth knowledge of enterprise computing, memory protocols, rack-scale design, thermal management, and data center infrastructure.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated success in launching complex server hardware, building winning pricing models, and managing product P&L.
  • Communication: Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite leadership and bridge the gap between US-based headquarters and global operations.

Salary Range

$250,000 - $295,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
