Sr. Director, Finance Transformation (USP4) (2734)

SUMMARY: The Sr. Director, Finance Transformation is a strategic and hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, accountable for defining and driving the multi-year transformation agenda for the Finance and Accounting organization. This role serves as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team, setting the vision and strategy to transform the finance organization from manual, reactive, and compliance-focused work toward an automated, proactive, and business-partnering model. The role would be responsible for introducing and implementing new technologies to drive automation and efficiencies across the organization, including the use of AI tools. The role drives organization-wide change management and culture-shift efforts to embed sustainable new ways of working across the finance function, presenting progress and outcomes directly to executive sponsors as needed. Further, the senior director would support business integrations and M&A to ensure efficiency in process, systems, and structure.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design and evolve the enterprise Finance and Accounting function transformation strategy and multi-year roadmap.
• Research and introduce best in-class finance and accounting technologies including supporting AI initiatives
• Lead the implementation of new technologies and processes to better automate the function and create efficiencies
• Set the strategy for internal communications supporting the finance transformation effort, ensuring alignment with the CFO and executive stakeholders.
• Design and lead executive and organization-wide forums supporting the finance transformation effort.
• Own the capability development strategy and framework for the finance organization, partnering with HR leadership on talent and skills planning.
• Lead culture-shift efforts in support of the transformation, moving the finance function from manual/reactive to automated/proactive, from an accounting and compliance lens to a General Manager lens that serves stakeholders and partners, and from siloed/opaque work to integrated, transparent, and collaborative ways of working.
• Own the cross-function progress view / dashboard tracking transformation milestones and outcomes.
• Partner with the CFO and executive leadership team to set transformation strategy, scope, objectives, and success metrics for the finance organization.
• Own the transformation portfolio's budget, resourcing model, and multi-year investment plan, and oversee the detailed project plans and timelines led by the transformation team.
• Build and maintain executive-level cross-functional partnerships across Finance, Accounting, IT, and other business units to advance transformation objectives.
• Report transformation status, milestones, and key performance indicators directly to the CFO and executive sponsors.
• Facilitate workshops and working sessions to gather requirements, map current-state finance processes, and design future-state solutions.
• Own the development of business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and ROI models for proposed finance transformation initiatives, presenting recommendations to executive leadership.
• Ensure transformation initiatives align with overall Finance and corporate strategy and deliver measurable business value.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team on transformation strategy and change readiness, partnering with the CFO and HR on organizational design, and representing the transformation function in executive-level discussions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field

• OR an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.

• 12+ years of relevant/technical work experience, including 8-11 years of progressive leadership experience building and leading teams.

• Strong background in financial systems and understanding current state technologies

• Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation, process improvement, or change management initiatives.

• Strong project management skills, including experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Lean Six Sigma).

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).

• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated experience presenting to and influencing C-suite audiences.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business, Finance, or a related field.
• PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant project management/process improvement certification.
• Prior experience with finance and accounting transformation, shared services, or financial systems modernization.
• Prior experience in the Aviation, Aerospace & Defense, or Government Services industries.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations or other large-scale finance systems transformations.
• Prior experience operating at the Vice President or Senior Director level within a Finance organization, with direct people management responsibility.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or post-acquisition integration efforts.
