DESCRIPTION:

As Senior Director of Sales Operations at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll enhance commercial excellence and sales force effectiveness across our organization. You'll collaborate with senior leadership to optimize sales performance through innovative strategies, data-driven insights, and effective operational models. Leading a diverse team, you'll enhance sales productivity through improved processes, systems, and tools while serving as a key strategic advisor to commercial leadership.

You'll lead initiatives to streamline commercial operations, implement sales enablement technologies, and develop comprehensive analytics that guide decision-making. Working collaboratively with sales, marketing, finance, and other stakeholders, you'll design and execute strategies that drive revenue growth while ensuring operational efficiency. Your leadership will be instrumental in developing sales compensation plans, territory alignments, and performance metrics that foster excellence.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in sales operations, with significant leadership experience
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Science, or related technical field
  • Demonstrated success developing and implementing sales effectiveness strategies and tools
  • Expert in CRM systems, sales analytics, and performance metrics
  • Strong financial acumen including P&L management and sales compensation design
  • Experience leading distributed teams and managing through matrix organizations
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with data-driven decision making
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for executive-level engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across functions and cultures
  • Expertise in sales process optimization and change management
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and sales technology platforms
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM systems
  • Global business experience preferred
  • 20-25% travel required
  • Success leading organizational transformation initiatives
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $192,700.00-$275,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
