Sr. Database Administrator

• Five years plus of direct experience configuring, supporting, and maintaining SQL databases in Linux/Windows environments
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments
• Perform database upgrades, patches, backups, and recovery operations
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency
• Manage database security, user access, and roles
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or other tools
• Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments and troubleshoot issues
• Maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies

Primary Responsibilities:

• SQL Administration
• Backup and Recovery of Relational Databases
• Disaster Recovery Administration
• Scripting and Departmental/end user Documentation
• Collaborate with vendors and manage vendor relationships
• Provide high level of trouble shooting, diagnostics, and repair support to Infrastructure and Security Team staff.
• Provide deep support to service desk operations

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Oracle Administration
• Linux Administration
• Virtualization Knowledge

Required Experience:

• 5 years' IT database experience
• High school diploma or equivalent

Education or Certifications desired:

• Bachelors degree preferred in computer science or business administration with a computer science concentration, preferably with a minimum five years related experience, will accept Associate degree with equivalent experience
• Database related certifications a plus
• AWS certifications a plus
