Sr Database Administrator in Columbia, SC Hybrid

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to support mission-critical enterprise systems, including case management databases, data warehouse platforms, and reporting environments. This role focuses on ensuring data integrity, performance optimization, security, and high availability across large-scale SQL Server environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain SQL Server environments (2016+) across multiple systems
• Implement backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning
• Configure and support high availability solutions (Always On, clustering)
• Perform performance tuning of stored procedures, queries, and large datasets
• Optimize ETL processes and data warehouse operations
• Monitor and resolve blocking, deadlocks, and long-running transactions
• Manage database security, access controls, and compliance standards
• Support data integrity, data cleanup, and cross-system standardization
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and data teams
• Assist with deployment pipelines, automation scripts, and version control
• Support reporting systems, dashboards, and backend query performance

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience with SQL Database Administration & Operations
• 3+ years of experience with Performance Tuning & Optimization
• 3+ years of experience with Data Integrity & Governance Support
• 3+ years of experience with Data Warehouse Architecture & Reporting Support
• 3+ years of experience with Security & Compliance
• 3+ years of experience with Automation & DevOps Support

Preferred Skills

• Experience in government or public sector environments
• Power BI backend optimization experience
• Familiarity with .NET application data access
• Experience with Always On Availability Groups
• Exposure to Azure DevOps or similar tools
