Position Details
General Statement
Student Wellness area is part of the Division of Student Success at MSU Bozeman. Student Wellness provides support and services for student and community health and wellbeing at MSU and is comprised of three major departments: Student Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services and Campus Recreation.
Campus Recreation encourages personal development, enhances academic productivity, and enriches wellbeing for students and the MSU Community. Campus Recreation is comprised of Fitness Programs, Competitive Sports, Outdoor Recreation, Activity Classes (ACT), and Member Services.
The Sr. Coordinator Fitness will provide leadership and expertise in the fitness program within Campus Recreation. Areas of oversight include group fitness and personal training. Responsible for hands-on operations including both group fitness program and personal training program supervision, customer service, fitness program equipment operations and maintenance, delivery of programs and services, staff/student development and training, safety and risk management. The qualified candidate will be required to work Monday-Friday and occasional nights and weekends.

Competence in basic word processing and spreadsheets.

Ability to manage a dynamic environment.
General knowledge of the allied health care continuum, and ability to advocate for fitness/wellness as part of the student health care continuum.
Professional involvement in organizations like the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), American Council on Exercise (ACE), etc.
Ability to work variable schedule which may include early mornings or evenings, as well as weekends and nights, and the ability to attend on and off campus events.
Ability to teach a wide variety of fitness formats and work with clients with diverse needs.
Must hold a current CPR/AED certification at the time of appointment or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
