Job Title: Sr. Compensation Manager
Location: Chicago, IL 60601 (Hybrid 2 days remote on Mondays & Fridays)
Pay rate: $45.00/hour to $50.00/hour
Work schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (1-year assignment with potential to extend)

Overview
The Senior Compensation Manager plays a critical role in driving compensation strategy (35 40%) and operational execution (60 65%) across North America Operations and Procurement for a population of 5,000 8,000 hourly (union and non-union) and salaried employees. Reporting to the Director of North America & WHQ Compensation, this individual provides expert consultation to HR Business Partners and executive leaders on job evaluations, market benchmarking, salary structure redesigns, and incentive plan performance.

Job Specifications
  • Lead the annual US and Canada salary structure redesign and manage annual salary planning and incentive cycles
  • Evaluate hourly incentive plan effectiveness and payout efficiency across multi-site manufacturing operations
  • Conduct market analytics, benchmarking, and job evaluations for broad-based and executive positions using Korn Ferry Hay methodology
  • Partner with HR leadership, Operations, Commercial, and R&D business units to deliver custom compensation insights and solutions
  • Design and implement policies to maintain internal equity, external competitiveness, and fiscal alignment with meritocracy principles
  • Oversee international salary survey participation and multi-country salary structure development
  • Develop and execute compensation-related training materials while driving continuous process improvements
  • Bachelor s degree required (MBA or equivalent preferred); Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
  • 5+ years of compensation experience with in-depth knowledge of plant manufacturing and operations environments required
  • In-depth technical knowledge of compensation theories, program design, applicable labor laws, and advanced Excel analytics
  • Proven ability to manage large cross-functional initiatives and influence senior leadership without direct authority
  • Korn Ferry Hay job evaluation experience strongly preferred
