Title: Sr Certification Engineer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Job Summary
We are seeking a Sr. Certification Engineer to support aircraft certification and regulatory compliance activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in certification planning, substantiation, airworthiness compliance, and coordination with regulatory agencies, suppliers, and customers throughout the certification process.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop certification plans, compliance checklists, and conformity inspection plans.
- Prepare substantiation reports and test plans/reports for flammability, cabin safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Support certification projects, including STC and PMA activities, technical documentation, and supplier deliverables.
- Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for aircraft modifications and design changes.
- Coordinate responses to certification issues, regulatory inquiries, and airworthiness concerns.
- Support interactions with FAA representatives and other regulatory stakeholders.
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful certification of modification programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 4 7 years of engineering experience, including certification, design, substantiation, or related aerospace activities.
- Knowledge of aircraft certification processes and substantiation methodologies.
- Familiarity with aircraft structures, mechanical systems, aerospace materials, fabrication methods, and hardware.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of aircraft interiors and cabin systems.
- Experience as a Certification Engineer, Design Engineer, or Substantiation Engineer.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations, STC/PMA processes, and airworthiness compliance.
