Sr Buyer (Aerospace)

This role will be responsible for managing complex purchase order packages, conducting supplier source selections, performing FAR/DFARS-compliant procurement activities, and documenting price reasonableness in support of government and military aerospace programs. The ideal candidate will have significant experience supporting aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments and be capable of independently executing procurement activities from requisition through award while maintaining compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support a high-volume aerospace and defense procurement organization. This role will be responsible for managing complex purchase order packages, conducting supplier source selections, performing FAR/DFARS-compliant procurement activities, and documenting price reasonableness in support of government and military aerospace programs.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience supporting aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments and be capable of independently executing procurement activities from requisition through award while maintaining compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and supplier sourcing activities in accordance with FAR and company procedures
• Review and process purchase requisitions and develop solicitation packages.
• Analyze supplier proposals and quotations.
• Prepare procurement summaries and source selection documentation.
• Perform price analysis utilizing adequate price competition, historical pricing, market research, and other approved techniques.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contractual terms with suppliers.
• Issue and administer purchase orders and subcontract modifications.
• Maintain complete procurement files and documentation suitable for government audit review.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years of procurement, purchasing, or subcontract management experience supporting aerospace and defense programs, with demonstrated knowledge of government contracting requirements.
• Experience preparing procurement summaries, sole source justifications, competitive bid evaluations, and source selection documentation.
• SAP/ERP system experience.
