    Description

We are looking for a Senior Business Developer (External Business Developer / EBD) to serve as a key relationship manager for a set of SVA vendors. As an EBD, you will be a strategic connector between assigned vendor partners and Amazon"s WW Stores teams - supporting shared value through Global Joint Business Plans (JBPs), Joint Business Initiatives (JBIs), and executive engagement. You will manage the external relationship for your assigned vendors, partnering closely with Category teams across WW Stores, Internal Business Developers (IBDs) who bring vertical expertise (e.g., Supply Chain, Brand Protection, Catalog, Site Experience), and Global Executive Sponsors (GES) at the VP/Director level.

This is a visible, cross-functional role that requires strong strategic thinking, relationship management, and the ability to work across geographies, cultures, and business functions with guidance from senior leadership.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Vendor Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned SVA vendors, building strong, trust-based relationships with vendor counterparts and supporting executive-level engagement as needed.
    • Joint Business Planning: Contribute to the development and maintenance of Global JBPs in partnership with WW Stores Category teams and vendor partners. Help ensure JBPs reflect strategic priorities with clear in-year goals and measurable outcomes.
    • Joint Business Initiative Execution: Drive JBIs through hands-on execution, coordination with local Category teams across WW Stores, and structured hand-offs to IBD subject matter experts for specialized initiatives. Track progress against launch or resolution timelines.
    • WW Stores Coordination: Reduce information gaps across WW Stores and partner teams (e.g., Ops, AWS, Ads). Help ensure global strategies incorporate local financial goals and surface high-impact decisions across relevant stores.
    • Executive Engagement Support: Support Global Executive Sponsors (GES) in preparing and executing Top-to-Top (T2T) meetings, QBRs, and other executive forums. Ensure materials reinforce JBI priorities and flag roadblocks for escalation.
    • Strategic Contribution & Best Practices: Contribute data-driven insights to team priorities and business strategies across WW Stores. Identify and share scalable mechanisms and best practices that strengthen the SVA program.
    • Program Reporting & Visibility: Support SVA visibility across WW Stores leadership through global scorecards, xBRs, and flashes communicating relationship health, JBI progress, and business impact - particularly margin and supply chain savings.
    • Vendor Portfolio Support: Assist in evaluating vendors against SVA tenets for program inclusion, support continuation or transition recommendations, and help manage controlled handoffs where appropriate.

So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
