Sr. BESS Project Engineer

What the Hiring Manager Really Wants

Must Have

• Electrical Engineering degree (strong preference)
• Experience reviewing engineering and design packages
• Ability to challenge and oversee the Engineer of Record (EOR)
• Provide QA/ QC oversight
• Utility-scale project experience (BESS, solar, substations, transmission, generation)
• Strong understanding of:
  • Power systems
  • Interconnection/POI
  • Protection and controls
  • SCADA/EMS integration
  • MV/HV electrical infrastructure
• Experience managing projects from development through construction and commissioning
• Comfortable leading discussions with EPCs, OEMs, consultants, utilities, and internal stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Direct BESS experience
• Familiarity with NFPA 855, UL9540A, IEEE, NEC
• Renewable energy background

Not Required

• P.E. License
• Deep hands-on design work
• Pure engineering consulting experience without project execution
