Sr. Back End Developer

Job Location: Springfield, VA

Compensation: $180,000 - $200,000

Eligibility/Clearance: Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI Clearance and the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph

Job Description: Join a mission-critical software development team building browser-based applications in support of the agency's cybersecurity risk management practice. We are leveraging a modern tech stack deployed in the Amazon cloud, including React/NodeJS, NextJS, python, Docker, SQL Server, and AWS services including Lambda, Glue, Redshift, RDS, EC2, and S3.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage data storage and access using SQL database technology
  • Develop and troubleshoot SQL-based collateral in support of application development requirements.
  • Utilize AWS services like Lambda, Glue, S3, and EC2 to support ETL-based data synchronization.
  • Participate in Agile development cycles, sprint planning, and code reviews.
  • Develop robust DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines for code validation and deployment.
  • Collaborate with security team to ensure secure and reliable deployments.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Required: Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with backend database development.
  • Expert-level SQL coding skills.
  • Experience with AWS data transformation services.
  • Experience developing data pipelines in AWS.
  • Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding best practices.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Desired: Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including FISMA RMF familiarity.
  • Experience with Amazon Redshift or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with python and Windows PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer management and user support skills.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field
