Sr. Application Engineer - Thermal

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Application Engineer, Thermal is responsible for supporting account teams with technical solutions, analysis and proposals for assigned accounts and other key customer projects to enable Vertiv to win thermal solution opportunities. This role will interface with the appropriate Vertiv Product Management or Design teams to ensure compliance with project proposals and to provide input as to customer needs into the business. Interface with customers and the Consulting Engineering community to share technical knowledge around Vertiv products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical support and bid assistance for assigned customer accounts throughout the sales cycle.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, delivering technical expertise and guidance to support their business and infrastructure objectives.
• Collaborate with Bid Teams, Sales Offices, and Account Teams to analyze technical specifications and ensure Vertiv solutions align with customer requirements and design intent.
• Develop and deliver technical responses to customers and consultants, including performance modeling, energy analysis, one-line diagrams, CFD studies, and other engineering deliverables.
• Prepare, review, and submit technical product submittals in support of customer bid opportunities.
• Evaluate Vertiv and competitive solutions, providing technical analysis and recommendations that support successful project outcomes.
• Partner with Technical Leads to review bid requirements and ensure all required products and services are accurately scoped and included in customer proposals.
• Support the development and execution of technical proposals and bid packages.
• Work closely with Offering Management and Design Management teams to communicate customer requirements and support continuous product improvement.
• Develop and maintain expertise in the application, operation, and controls of Vertiv Thermal products.
• Identify opportunities to improve Order-to-Commissioning processes and recommend best practices.
• Deliver technical presentations and training to customers, consulting engineers, and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Vertiv''s global technical teams to support regional and global customer opportunities.
• Participate in factory witness testing, product validation activities, and performance testing with customers and laboratory teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field of study (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 4-8 years of industry technical experience.
• Service industry experience required with knowledge of electrical distribution systems, critical space environments, service products, and clients.
• Strong computer skills including editing, formatting, and using templates in all Microsoft Office programs, use of Internet for standards/products/manufacturer research, and operation of computer-controlled test equipment.
• A high degree of creative ability and independent judgment, working with minimal supervision.
• The ability to think and act strategically, utilizing account plans to set specific account objectives.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

• Ability to take after-hour calls during nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
