We are seeking a remote Application Developer

The Application Developer will provide technical support, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex application issues across distributed environments. This position works closely with business analysts, technical teams, and internal clients to investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

Responsibilities include supporting the full software development lifecycle, maintaining existing applications, performing break-fix analysis, testing system changes, documenting resolutions, and ensuring applications operate according to business and technical requirements.

This is a hands-on application development and production support role requiring participation in on-call rotations, including after-hours and weekend support.

Required Skills, Experience & Education

• 3+ years of professional software development or application support experience.

• Experience with TriZetto Facets or other healthcare payer management systems.

• Understanding of healthcare insurance operations, including claims, providers, membership, and billing.

• Strong experience troubleshooting complex software applications across distributed environments.

• Demonstrated ability to investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement break-fix solutions.

• Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify problems and communicate resolutions.

• Hands-on experience with Java or similar systems-oriented development, including batch jobs, web applications, and web services.

• Experience with software analysis, technical design, and application maintenance.

• Solid understanding of systems design, database development, testing, and integration methodologies.

• Experience performing unit testing and integration testing to validate application changes.

• Ability to document technical solutions and communicate findings clearly to both technical and business audiences.

• Experience supporting applications throughout the full systems development lifecycle, including maintenance and decommissioning.

• Ability to manage multiple support tickets and resolve small to medium, complex technical issues.

• Willingness and availability to participate in on-call rotations, including after-hours and weekend support.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience working with relational SQL databases, particularly MS SQL Server or Oracle.

• Experience with JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) administration, management, and production support.

• Shell scripting experience using Bash or KornShell (ksh).
