Tesla's Industrial Products team is seeking a Senior Analyst focused on technoeconomic modeling to support product strategy, pricing, and roadmap decisions for Megapack, our industrial storage solution, and other industrial products. You will own and maintain the models that quantify total cost of ownership, capital project economics, and product value propositions - and translate those outputs into clear, actionable insights for product managers and leadership. This role requires both technical rigor and the ability to communicate technical and financial outputs to cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
Build, maintain, and continuously improve total cost of ownership (TCO) and capital project finance models for industrial energy products, including project finance and LCOE/LCOS analysis
Model revenue stacking and merchant market scenarios - quantifying the value of energy storage across energy arbitrage, capacity, ancillary services, and demand charge reduction
Deliver regular reporting on model outputs, market economics, and product value metrics - including monthly executive-facing updates
Partner with Product Managers to incorporate the latest product specifications, cost inputs, and configuration options into models
Collaborate with the Sales Tools team to automate reporting workflows and integrate modeling outputs into quoting and analysis platforms
Gather and validate inputs from Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure model accuracy and relevance
Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity studiesto bound uncertainty and inform product and pricing decisions
Support competitive benchmarking by modeling competitor product economics where data is available
Present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders, making complex tradeoffs easy to understand and act on
Maintain model documentation, version control, and testing discipline to ensure outputs are reliable and auditable
3+ years of experience in financial modeling, technoeconomic analysis, or project finance - preferably in energy, infrastructure, or cleantech
Deep expertise in building and maintaining complex models in Excel; proficiency in Python or SQL a strong plus
Familiarity with LCOE, LCOS, and capital project finance structures - including PPA/offtake structures, IRR, NPV
Experience with energy storage or renewable energy market economics, including revenue stacking and merchant price forecasting, strongly preferred
Proficiency in data visualization tools to communicate model outputs effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure complex problems and communicate results clearly
Comfortable working across engineering, finance, and commercial teams to gather inputs and align on assumptions
Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Genuine interest in the economics of energy storage and how product decisions drive value in the market
Loves numbers and excel

$112,000 - $204,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
