TRC is working alongside a nimble firm in the aerospace arena that is seeking a Sr Aerospace Engineer - Advanced Concepts to help a small team of engineers advance high-speed flight research through modeling and simulation. US Citizenship required. Candidate must have aerospace experience related to flight performance, trajectory and orbital mechanics for consideration.
Key Responsibilities
Design and evaluate hypersonic aircraft, launch vehicles, and human/robotic spacecraft
Perform mass modeling, vehicle sizing, and architecture studies
Develop and optimize trajectories using 3-DOF analysis tools
Support multidisciplinary analysis and design optimization efforts
Collaborate with a small, fast-paced engineering team to advance concepts from early design through prototyping
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering
2+ years of relevant experience (internships and research included)
Experience with hypersonic vehicles, launch systems, and/or spacecraft design and modeling
Knowledge of multidisciplinary design optimization methods
Experience with trajectory analysis tools, CFD software, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar simulation platforms
U.S. citizenship required with eligibility to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of aerospace industry experience
Experience with high-speed flight systems, launch vehicles, UAVs, missiles, or CubeSats
Knowledge of Monte Carlo, uncertainty, or risk analysis
Small business environment experience
