Akkodis is seeking an Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting engineering evaluations, structural analyses, and design assessments of gas turbine engine components to support production, quality, supplier qualification, and design change initiatives.
Rate Range: $70/hour to $75/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Conduct engineering evaluations and technical assessments of gas turbine engine components to support production, supplier transitions, quality improvements, and value engineering initiatives.
Perform structural, thermal, vibration, stress, fatigue, and life-cycle analyses using FEA tools such as ANSYS to validate component performance and reliability.
Review engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, specifications, and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
Support supplier qualification and substantiation activities, including ESA, STICS, STR, FTR, and SCS documentation reviews, while collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
Evaluate and implement design changes, including ECNs, EMAs, and deviation waivers, ensuring successful integration into production environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program teams to resolve technical issues, improve processes, reduce costs, and drive continuous product improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
5+ years of experience in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Development, or Gas Turbine Engine component engineering.
Strong expertise in finite element analysis (FEA), thermal and structural evaluations, fatigue analysis, GD&T interpretation, aerospace manufacturing processes, and gas turbine engine component design and validation.
Proven experience supporting quality, supplier substantiation, and design change processes, including FAIR, RMRA, ECN, EMA, supplier qualification activities, and collaboration with manufacturing, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Pay Details: $70.00 to $75.00 per hour
