Sr. Accountant

Senior Accountant - Hybrid

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $63.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Accountant to support a leading healthcare organization in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong financial analysis skills, advanced Excel expertise, and experience working with ERP and Business Intelligence systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex accounting and financial analysis assignments to support accurate and timely financial reporting.

   

• Contribute to the preparation and accuracy of financial statements and related financial reports.

   

• Analyze financial data and provide meaningful insights to support business and financial decision-making.

   

• Prepare, review, and approve account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed.

   

• Perform detailed variance analysis and communicate findings, trends, and recommendations to leadership.

   

• Retrieve, analyze, and interpret financial data from ERP and Business Intelligence systems.

   

• Recommend improvements to accounting systems, processes, and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.

   

• Provide guidance, training, and support to accounting staff.

   

• Collaborate with finance, accounting, and operational teams to support organizational financial management.

   

• Assist with special projects, process improvements, and other accounting initiatives as assigned.

   

• Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and applicable financial reporting standards.

   

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

   

• 5-7 years of accounting experience required.

   

• Advanced knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.

   

• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience performing and interpreting financial variance analysis.

   

• Experience retrieving and analyzing data from ERP systems and Business Intelligence software.

   

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and Macros.

   

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

   

• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.

   

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

   

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

   

• Experience in a healthcare or hospital financial environment is a plus.
