SQL / Oracle DBA

The primary duties include correcting issues, ensuring performance, availability, security, monitoring the health of all internally hosted database servers supported by the Production Support team. Installs, upgrades, and patches both MS SQL Server and Oracle databases with ASM on Linux.

Our client, a growing financial firm is looking for a DBA to join the team. This role is responsible for maintaining, configuring, and performance tuning database systems. The current platforms to support are MS SQL Server 2019 and 2022, as well as Oracle 19c. The primary duties include correcting issues, ensuring performance, availability, security, monitoring the health of all internally hosted database servers supported by the Production Support team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors daily processing, research exceptions and request items
• Monitors database performance and performs database tuning
• Establishes and monitors database backup, recovery, and replication processes
• Participates in disaster recovery testing for databases
• Designs and creates databases for applications developed by the firm implementing their standards
• Designs and writes stored procedures in SQL
• Adheres to policy regarding change management
• Be part of the L2 production support team
• Installs, upgrades, and patches both MS SQL Server and Oracle databases with ASM on Linux
• Working knowledge in database systems architecture
• Participate in the on-call rotation of the Production Support group

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years of DBA experience (Windows for SQL) and (Linux for Oracle)
• Ability to work with Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of SQL, Transact SQL, PL-SQL
• Knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting languages
• Experience with replication services
• Working knowledge of MS SQL Server native auditing
• Experience with database monitoring tools - Solarwinds or Idera a plus
• Experience with DataMasker tool is a plus
