Fire Sprinkler Technician Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of various fire suppression systems.
Responsibilities:- Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential properties in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.
- Install and repair wet-pipe and dry-pipe fire suppression systems.
- Conduct testing and maintenance of backflow prevention devices, ensuring compliance and proper function.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain system components including valves, alarms, hydrants, and piping.
- Document all work performed accurately and thoroughly, including inspection reports, service orders, and repair recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain system issues, repair options, and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain an organized service vehicle and accurate inventory of parts and tools.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:- Proven experience as a Fire Sprinkler Technician, demonstrating expertise in wet and dry systems.
- Strong understanding of NFPA 13, 25, and other relevant fire and building codes [1].
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Additional Desired Skills (A Plus):- Experience with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire pumps.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification) [1, 2].
- Experience with special hazard systems (e.g., pre-action, deluge, foam).
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
- Capability to climb ladders and utilize mechanical lifts safely.
