Spray Drying Operations Technician (Flavor & Fragrance Powders)

Location: New Ulm, MN | Work Arrangement: Onsite

A day in this role

You arrive, review production orders, and begin equipment prep. You’ll disassemble spray dry and related systems for wash-ups, meticulously clean, titrate chemicals when needed, sanitize rooms, and reassemble to exact standards. During runs, you manage packaging of powder into bags or super sacks, verify Quality Control and HACCP checks, and pull samples. Between runs, you support site-wide washing functions and reset lines. You’ll move full pallets by pallet jack, operate forklifts when required, and keep a vigilant eye on safety and product integrity from start to finish.

Core responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble processing equipment during wash-ups and changeovers
• Clean production rooms; titrate and handle sanitation chemicals appropriately
• Support washing activities across all areas during designated wash times
• Accurately package powders into bags/super sacks; label and stage finished goods
• Execute QC verifications, HACCP checks, and sampling per procedure
• Move finished pallets using a pallet jack; operate forklifts as needed
• Uphold site Quality and Safety standards at all times

What you bring

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; prior experience working with chemicals
• 1–3 years in packing/compounding with the ability to follow special formula instructions
• Knowledge of GMPs and HACCP
• Forklift experience; able to stand/walk for up to 90% of the shift
• Capable of lifting a 35 lb product hose; frequently lift/pull/push up to 50 lbs
• Comfort working in minimally temperature-controlled areas with occasional exposure to outdoor temps

Compensation and benefits

The pay range reflects what dsm-firmenich expects to offer for this position, with final pay based on job-related skills, experience, education/training, and primary work location. Salary $28.91-29.00 per hour.
