JOB TITLE: Sports Information - Graduate Assistantship REPORTS TO: Sports Information Director and Athletic Director DEPARTMENT: Athletics START DATE: August 3, 2026 CLASSIFICATION: Part Time Staff SALARY: $4,500 + Room & Meals General Function: Andrew College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and competes in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). Andrew College sponsors 16 varsity sports and is seeking applications for graduate assistants within the Sports Information Department for the 2026 -27 academic year. The graduate assistant will report directly to Sports Information Director, Sterling Bright. Duties and Responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following : - Assist with updating the Andrew College Athletics Website (AndrewFi ghtingTigers.com ) - Assist with content creation for athletics social media platforms, including Facebook, X and Instagram - Keep statistics at various home athletic events - Write press releases covering student -athletes, coaches, teams, breaking news and departmental announcements - Assist with organizing and attending media day photo sessions - Help maintain the photo archives of the Sports Communications Department - Assist with game -day operations and athletic communications coverage - Perform other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director Compensation: The graduate assistantship is a one-year position running from Aug. 10 through May 10. Compensation includes: - $4,500 annual stipend ($500 per month for nine months) - Room and board, if needed - Reimbursement for up to six credit hours per semester for approved in-state master's programs Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in communications, public relations, sports management or a related field - Experience in sports writing and game coverage - Ability to work nights and weekends - Strong writing and verbal communication skills - Ability to take direction and follow through on assignments - Dependable, organized and enthusiastic - Must be authorized for unrestricted employment in the United States indefinitely with no immigration sponsorship needed Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience working within an athletics department - Understanding of social media strategy and content creation - Experience with SIDEARM Sports or athletics website management - Experience in photography and videography - Demonstrated storytelling and communication skills Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job you may be required to lift and/or move heavy items. Due to the nature of this job you will also be required to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
