Job Summary
The Sport Instructor is a hands-on position that will lead athletes and provides expert instruction in their designated sport. The Sport Instructor is directly responsible for providing the i9 Sports Experience and driving a positive youth sports culture on the field.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging instructional sessions across all sports (soccer, basketball, flag football, etc.), focusing on fundamentals, skill development, and sportsmanship.
- Demonstrate core concepts and lead drills adaptable to multiple athletic disciplines.
- Maintain a fun, safe, and organized environment for participants at after-school program locations.
- Communicate clearly with parents and players regarding schedules and program details.
- Consistently exhibit a positive attitude, high energy, and outstanding customer service.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Multi-Sport Versatility: Willingness and confidence to coach and instruct multiple sports.
- Availability: Must be available starting at 4:30 PM on program days.
- Location Mobility: Ability to travel to designated session sites, including:
- Culebra Creek Park
- Bonnie Conner Park
- Phil Hardberger Park
- Classen- Steubing Ranch Park
- Bulverde Community Park
- Sotomayor High School
- Additional surrounding area venues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior coaching, teaching, or youth leadership experience preferred.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and reliable for the full duration of the session (~4–7 weeks).
