Job Overview: the role of the Administrative Assistant in the Spiritual Life Office (SLO) is to support the University Chaplain in executing the tasks and mission of the SLO. In addition to working closely with the University Chaplain, this role also includes engagement with the student body through the events of the SLO. Individuals seeking to apply for this role should have experience in office administration, such as calendaring, record keeping, and third item proficiently in working interpersonally with individuals outside and within the MNU community. This is a 10-month position with full-time benefits.
Essential Functions:
Provide administrative support to the Spiritual Life Office:
Coordinate the schedule of the University Chaplain for university-wide pastoral car
Coordinate the reservation of rooms for chapel, small groups, and trainings
Coordinate the requisition process for the purchase of supplies for the Spiritual Life Office
Attend all Spiritual Life activities, with an emphasis on activities that are hosted during standard business hours
Attend the Student Care Committee and coordinate pastoral care for students in crisis
Serve as the building coordinator for Weatherby Chapel
Assist in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding Student Chaplains
Serve as the first point of contact for individuals who stop by Weatherby Chapel
Initiate the check requisition process for chapel speakers and reserve campus housing for speakers when necessary
Support the University Chaplain as it pertains to administrative tasks
Provide oversight and administration of the Spiritual Life Office accountability app, iAttended:
Enter all SLO events into the iAttended App
Work to enroll new students into the iAttended App
Hire and train student workers to assist in scanning individuals into SLO events using the iAttended App
Oversee the troubleshooting and clarification for students using iAttended at SLO events
Facilitate the application of SLO requirements to student's iAttended account
Provide mid-semester updates to students who are deficient in meeting their requirements at the halfway point in the semester
Provide an end-of-the-semester summation of student participation to the University Chaplain
