    Description

    We are seeking an energetic, engaging, and reliable Spin Instructor to lead dynamic indoor cycling classes for a diverse campus community. This position will work with both college students and community members, creating an inclusive, motivating, and welcoming environment for participants of varying fitness levels and experience.

    The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic fitness professional who can connect with a wide range of participants and bring energy and positivity to every class. Availability to teach or regularly cover our 6:00 a.m. class on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays is highly desirable.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead safe, energetic, and engaging indoor cycling/Spin classes for students, faculty/staff, and community members.
    • Provide clear instruction on cycling technique, resistance, cadence, positioning, and overall class flow.
    • Create motivating playlists and class formats appropriate for a diverse range of fitness levels.
    • Offer modifications and options to accommodate participants with different abilities and experience levels.
    • Foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere that encourages participants to return and stay active.
    • Arrive on time and prepared for each scheduled class, including early-morning sessions.
    • Follow campus recreation policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
    • Maintain a professional and positive presence while representing the campus recreation program.
    • Communicate effectively with recreation staff regarding attendance, equipment, scheduling, and participant feedback.

    Qualifications Required:

    • Previous experience teaching indoor cycling/Spin classes or a comparable group fitness format.
    • Current nationally recognized group fitness and/or indoor cycling certification, or the ability to obtain certification as required.
    • Current CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it within the required timeframe.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
    • Ability to create an inclusive and positive environment for participants of varying ages and fitness levels.
    • Dependable, punctual, and professional.

    Preferred:

    • Experience working with a diverse population of students and community members.
    • Availability for 6:00 a.m. classes and/or early-morning class coverage.
    • Additional group fitness certifications or relevant fitness education
