    This position is PRN, working as needed by the department.

    What you will do:
    The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) assesses patients, formulates a plan of care and provides direct patient care services in accordance with the law and state practice act. Services must be ordered by a physician or physician extender. The Speech Therapist also supervises and delegates appropriate functions to the Speech Therapy Student, New Grad or Rehab Technician.
     
    Required Education: 
    Master’s Degree in SLP

    Required Skills:
    Basic computer skills, good interpersonal skills, basic organizational and time management skills, basic knowledge and skills to care for the physical and development needs of the population served.

    Preferred Skills:
    Advanced skills/certifications in specialty areas, such as VitalStim certification
     
    Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:
    Current Texas license as a Speech Language Pathologist; BLS

    Required Experience:
    Work/educational experience in the healthcare field

    Preferred Experience:
    One year experience as an Speech Language Pathologist in a health care setting.
