Salary Range from $38.00 - $55.00 an hour

The Speech Therapist is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Greets customers in a friendly and welcoming manner. Creates a positive first impression. Smiles, projects a positive attitude.
  • Through the continuous improvement of standards of practice and by providing a safe and secure environment the customer will be assured a sense of safety and well-being, free from risk and harm.
  • Contributes to the effectiveness of the department/unit by remaining within the acceptable standard of the Agency's Attendance/Tardiness Control Policy.
  • Assumes responsibility for a patient caseload, demonstrating clinical expertise with specific diagnosis which include speech/language disorders. (Phonology, morphology, syntax, etc.) and dysphagia (oral, pharyngeal, esophageal and myofunctional disorders.)
  • Speech therapy includes providing assessment, treatment and intervention to patients with speech, voice, language communication, swallowing and related disabilities.
  • Provides consultation and counseling to patients, as well as families, caregivers and other service providers related to the speech disorders.
  • Provision of services that support the effective use of augmentative and alternative communication devices and other communication prostheses and assistive devices.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes to assess effectiveness. Services are modified in relation to their evaluations. Referrals are made in relation to their outcomes.
  • Documents plan of care and all services provided. Maintains patient records according to Agency policy.

Education:

Master's Degree in Speech Therapy

Professional Experience:

  • Current Speech Therapist Certification in the state of operations
  • 3+ years' experience in Home Health, Acute Care setting or Rehabilitation Facility
