About the Role

Capitol Academy and Capitol Elementary serve students with diverse learning, behavioral, and communication needs. We are seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our student-centered, collaborative team. The SLPA works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech therapy services to students. The SLPA assists with implementing treatment plans, documenting student progress, preparing therapy materials, and supporting students in achieving their communication goals. The SLPA works closely with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to support students' communication development and overall academic success.

What You'll Do

• Provide individual and small-group speech therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Implement treatment plans developed by mentoring SLP.
• Document student progress, maintain accurate therapy records, and collect data to support the supervising SLP.
• Prepare therapy materials, activities, and equipment to support student learning and communication goals.
• Support students in developing communication skills, including articulation, language, fluency, and social communication, as directed by the supervising SLP.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers.
• Create a positive, engaging therapy environment that promotes student growth and confidence.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an approved Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program OR Bachelor's degree that meets California SLPA requirements.
• Current California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant License/Registration.
• Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
