A Day in the Life of a Speech Language Pathologist with WesleyLife At Home:
Your day begins by reviewing your visit schedule and preparing for each client's unique goals. Because you're working in-home, you get a full picture of your clients' lives-their routines, challenges, environments, and strengths. This context enriches your therapy and allows your interventions to be practical and personal.
Assess speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing abilities in the home environment
Identify functional strengths and challenges that impact daily living
Develop tailored treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient‑centered goals
Provide individualized, targeted therapy to improve communication, cognitive function, and swallowing safety
Integrate therapy strategies into clients' natural routines and environments
Address communication, cognition, and dysphagia needs with a whole‑person approach
Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to support communication and swallowing at home
Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team including nurses, PTs, OTs, and care coordinator
