SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST\n \nJob Posting ID: 148Location(s): UPSHUR COUNTY SSA - COOPEmployment Type: Full TimeJob Type: EXEMPTPosted Date: 03/02/2026Deadline: Until FilledHours per Day: 8:00:00\n \nSPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST\n \nReports to: Director for Special Education or Assigned Supervisor\n \nQualifications: Credentials from State Licensing Agency, Master's Degree, and experience preferred.\n \nPrimary Goal: Provide diagnostic assessment and therapy services to students with disabilities. Conduct ARD/IEP meetings for studenst whose disability is speech impaired, and develop and implement appropriate goals and objectives.\n \nPerformance Effectiveness: Instructional Program and Supports\n\n Identify and evaluate children with speech and/or language impairments.\n Write evaluation reports within timelines for evaluations conducted.\n Conduct initial and 3 year reevaluations within timelines for students identified with Speech impairments.\n Develop appropriate goals and objectives for the students in the program.\n Conduct, attend and/or provide information to the ARD/IEP committee as appropriate.\n Referral for medical or other professional attention necessary for the habilitation or prevention of communicative impairments.\n Maintain responsibility for material needs and inventory of materials.\n Conduct speech and language services for the habilitation of communicative impairments that adversely impact the education of the student.\n Assist teachers, parents, and students regarding speech and language strategies.\n Submit schedules or reports as requested including medicaid and inventory reporting.\n Provide accurate and current data for progress reporting purposes.\n Maintain knowledge of required state and federal regulations.\n Maintain current knowledge of TEKS and assist with campus staff development as requested.\n Responsible to appropriately supervise SLPA assistant to SLP if required.\n Conduct duties within required timelines.\n \nPerformance Effectiveness: Community/Parent / Student Communication\n\n Assist parents, and students regarding speech and language strategies.\n Collaborate with local agencies, physicians as needed.\n Coordinate with local ECI programs as appropriate.\n Assist with Child Find as requested.\n Assist the special education director in assigned duties.\n \nPersonal Effectiveness\n\n Takes initiative to assist student, parent, or teacher as appropriate.\n Works in harmony with peers and associates.\n Responds to suggestions for improvement in a positive manner.\n Displays professionalism in dealing with students, parents, staff, and community.\n Is punctual.\n Maintains good attendance.\n Maintains a professional appearance.\n Mentally alert and physically able to perform the job functions.\n Displays self-control and tact.\n Collaborates in problem solving.\n Follows district guidelines as instructed including confidentiality of student records.\n Seeks professional growth through continuing education and staff development.\n* Performs other duties as assigned.\n\n
