Pay: to $36/hour
Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
The Opportunity
If you've been looking for a caseload built entirely around early childhood — not a split assignment squeezed between school groups or medical settings — this direct-hire role puts you full-time in a play-based daycare and early learning environment, working exclusively with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The position pays $36/hour and includes paid relocation, so if Tuscaloosa isn't currently home, that's already covered.
Why This Opportunity Is Worth a Look
- $36/hour, full-time direct hire — not a per-diem or contract assignment
- Relocation assistance paid by the employer
- Clinical Fellows and CFYs welcome to apply — this isn't restricted to fully certified SLPs only
- Manageable caseloads, as described by the employer, in a setting built around early intervention rather than high-volume scheduling
- Full integration into a daycare's daily routines — classroom carryover, not isolated pull-out sessions
What Your Week Looks Like
- Conduct play-based speech, language, and early communication assessments for infants, toddlers, and young children
- Design and deliver therapy plans built around early childhood learning styles, sensory preferences, and developmental milestones
- Work directly alongside daycare teachers and early childhood specialists to build communication strategies into classroom routines, story times, and play
- Track and document progress on speech clarity, receptive/expressive language, and social communication
- Coach parents and childcare staff on language strategies for home and classroom carryover
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Valid Georgia State License in Speech-Language Pathology, or active eligibility (CCC-SLP preferred; Clinical Fellows and CFYs welcome)
- 1-2 years of work experience; prior experience with pediatric populations or early intervention is a strong plus
- An adaptable, playful approach suited to working with very young children
Why Candidates Say Yes
- A caseload focused entirely on early childhood development, in a classroom-integrated setting rather than a clinical one
- Relocation paid for candidates coming from outside the area
- Clinical Fellows are welcomed, not just fully licensed SLPs
- Employer-stated commitment to manageable caseloads and work-life balance
