SPED Resource Room Teachers

QUALIFICATIONS:· Bachelor's degree in special education or related field; Masters preferred· State of Michigan teacher certificate with one of the following endorsements: SA, SC, SE, SM· Experience working with students in a variety of learning disabilities· Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education (SPED) laws· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills NATURE OF THE POSITION: The Resource Room Teacher is committed to providing individualized attention and support to students who need it the most. Additional duties as assigned SKILLS:Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staffExperience in behavior management and intervention strategiesKnowledge of current trends and best practices in special educationAdvanced training in specific learning disabilities or disordersKnowledge of assistive technology tools and resourcesAbility to effectively differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
