Job Overview:
Pay Range: $15.00hr - $20.00hr
Requirement/Must Have:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of computers.
- Data entry background with abilities to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
- Ability to work in a biohazard environment, practicing good safety habits.
- Availability for weekends, holidays, on call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department.
- Handle A-station, presort, pickup, and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
- Perform imaging, microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting.
- Ensure all functions are performed with confidence, accuracy, and in a timely manner.
- Organize and understand specimen types related to tests ordered by the client.
- Learn and understand compliance regulations related to test ordering.
- Adhere to core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing.
- Previous laboratory experience.
- Medical background including medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
- Previous hospital laboratory experience.
- Previous experience in a production environment.
