    Job Title: Specimen Technician
    Job Location: Fayetteville, NC
    Duration:  6 Months
    Shift Schedule: M-F 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

    Summary:
    • The SPT I is responsible for general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department. This position requires a data entry background.
    • All functions must be performed with confidence, accuracy, and in a timely manner.
    • The job is complex and requires good organizational skills and the ability to learn and understand specimen types related to tests ordered by clients. This position is critical to quality for customer satisfaction and requires great flexibility due to frequent changes.
    • The department is a production environment with an emphasis on productivity, quality standards, and departmental completion times.
    Responsibilities:
    • Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department.
    • Handle tasks such as A-station, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, imaging/microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting.
    • Maintain confidence, accuracy, and timeliness in all functions.
    • Adapt to many different demands made by the customer.
    • Work primarily on the nightshift, with availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.
    • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
    • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
    • Adhere to core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.
