    Overview:

    Sentara is hiring a Specialty Pharmacy Technician for our Case Management team at Norfolk General Hospital

    $5,000 Sign on Bonus for Qualified Candidates!

    Location: Norfolk, VA

    Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

    Shift: Rotating Days shift

    Hours: 8am-4:30pm / 8:30am-5pm / 9:30am-6pm

    Occasional Saturdays

    The Specialty Pharmacy Tech p erforms care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

    • Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner

    • Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care

    • Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technicians scope of practice as needed

    • Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information

    • Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements

    • Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

    • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

    • A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

    Education

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
