    Overview:

    Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician at our Proprium Pharmacy Fulfillment Center in Chesapeake, VA.

    $5,000 Sign on Bonus for Qualified Candidates!

    Location: Chesapeake, VA 23320

    Status: Full Time (40 hours/week)

    Shift: Rotating Days shift

    Hours: 8AM-5PM

    Occasional Saturdays

    The Specialty Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

    • Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner

    • Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care

    • Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed

    • Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information

    • Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements

    • Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

    • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

    • A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

    Education

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

    Certification/Licensure

    • Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)

    • CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)

    Experience

    • 1 Year Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)

    We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
