Job Duties

The Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) is seeking a highly motivated person for the position of Training Coordinator within the Department of Judicial Services, Specialty Dockets Services Division. The Specialty Dockets Training Coordinator supports the administration and delivery of training and educational initiatives for the Division and statewide Specialty Dockets teams. This position contributes to the Division's established goals, objectives, and priorities while evaluating training program effectiveness and outcomes. The Training Coordinator leads the development and implementation of training curricula, educational events, instructional materials, and assessment tools.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Training Events: Prepare, organize, and oversee division training events, including the annual Specialty Dockets Training conference. Coordinate event logistics including venues, lodging, meals, agendas, presenters, registration, and attendee communication.

  • Facilitate Training Programs: Deliver training to Specialty Dockets teams and partnering agencies, including new team training, refresher courses, and trauma-informed response training. Facilitate instruction through a variety of delivery methods, including in-person, virtual, hybrid, and on-the-job coaching formats. Assist in producing, updating, and disseminating informational materials, fact sheets, newsletters, resource guides, policy manuals, educational programs, and related materials for use throughout the special dockets community.

  • Train and Develop Facilitators: Train and support division staff and other facilitators in Specialty Dockets training curricula and instructional techniques to expand statewide training capacity through a train-the-trainer model.

  • Assess Training Needs: Evaluate training resource and curriculum needs; identify internal and external training opportunities to address content gaps; and organize, develop, or coordinate training programs in collaboration with subject matter experts. Maintain professional expertise in specialty docket initiatives and evidence-based practices, and update training materials accordingly.

  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Evaluate and provide recommendations regarding training events, curricula, materials, and instructional methodologies. Research and assess training and event management software (e.g. CVENT, SurveyMonkey). Track and maintain records related to division-facilitated training events.

The Specialty Dockets Training Coordinator position requires routine statewide travel, including overnight stays. Travel is typically between four and eight overnight days per month but may increase during peak training or conference periods.

Minimum Qualifications

The most competitive candidates will possess:

  • Experience coordinating professional event logistics, including schedules, registration processes, materials, venue management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Experience delivering professional development presentations, facilitating group instruction, or providing technical assistance to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional methods, and training delivery techniques for in-person and virtual environments.
  • Ability to develop, revise, and maintain training curricula, educational materials, guidance documents, and related resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with professionals, leadership, partner agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting/training platforms such as Teams, Zoom, and Webex.
  • Experience collecting, tracking, and evaluating training feedback and outcomes to support continuous quality improvement.
  • Ability to travel as required for statewide training events, conferences, and onsite technical assistance.

Preferred Qualifications -

  • Training multidisciplinary teams

  • Coordinating statewide training initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, communications, human services, organizational development, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
