Specialty Construction Recruiter

Job Description:

HITT Contracting is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Construction Recruiter to join our growing recruitment team and support some of the most critical and hard-to-fill roles across our business. This role may be based out of our Headquarters in Falls Church, VA or in our Dallas, TX regional office. This role reports to HITT's Construction Recruiting Manager and will play an important role in strengthening sourcing capability and recruiting strategy across the broader team.

As HITT continues to expand its national footprint and take on increasingly complex projects-including within our Mission Critical portfolio-the need for specialized talent across technical and high-impact functions continues to grow. This role is a key investment in strengthening our ability to identify, engage, and attract top-tier talent in areas where supply is limited and competition is high.

This position is designed to deepen our team's capability in proactive sourcing, pipeline development, and targeted recruiting for hard-to-fill roles. The scope of this role will evolve based on business need and hiring priorities, including focus areas such as MEP and Safety along with other specialized functions.

The Recruiter will develop a strong understanding of targeted talent pools and bring a thoughtful, resourceful approach to how we identify and engage candidates across the country.

The ideal candidate brings prior recruiting experience within the construction industry and is energized by the challenge of finding and engaging niche talent, particularly passive candidates. You thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and are naturally curious, persistent, and relationship-driven, with strong judgment and the ability to build credibility with both candidates and hiring leaders.

HITT, founded in 1937 as a small family business, has grown into one of the nation's top 10 largest general contractors. With deep roots in the Washington, DC area and a rapidly expanding presence across the United States, HITT's growth is driven by our clients and built on strong, lasting relationships with partners and subcontractors. Today, our 2,200+ construction professionals deliver a full range of services, including base building construction, renovations, corporate interior fit-outs, service, and emergency work. With annual revenues of $13 billion, HITT is about more than construction-we are building dreams, shaping possibilities, and defining the places where people live, work, and connect.

Responsibilities

Specialized Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

• Lead full cycle recruiting for focused roles across HITT's national footprint, with an emphasis on hard-to-fill and highly technical positions supporting our Mission Critical and other complex project types

• Partner with hiring managers and regional business unit leadership to understand evolving talent needs, including those tied to large-scale, technically complex projects nationwide

• Deliver a high-quality, relationship-driven candidate experience, particularly for passive and highly sought-after candidates

• Serve as a credible and knowledgeable point of contact for candidates, effectively representing HITT's projects, culture, and value proposition

• Maintain consistent communication and engagement throughout the recruiting process, ensuring transparency and trust

Proactive Sourcing & Market Intelligence

• Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies to identify and engage passive talent across targeted markets, competitors, and regions

• Conduct talent mapping and pipeline development for key roles, geographies, and project types, with a strong focus on Mission Critical and new project work types

• Leverage advanced sourcing techniques (Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, networking, referrals, and industry groups) to build diverse and high-quality candidate pipelines

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with construction professionals, creating a network that extends beyond immediate hiring needs

• Provide insight into talent availability, compensation trends, and competitor activity to inform hiring strategy, workforce planning, and targeted recruiting campaigns
