Specialist – Regulatory & Compliance Training

Location: Houston, TX 77002 (On-Site)
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Pay Rate: Starting at $60.00/hour

Position Summary

The Regulatory & Compliance Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining training programs in partnership with subject matter experts. This role also supports Learning Management System (LMS) administration and helps ensure the effective delivery of regulatory, compliance, HR, and business process training.

The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional design expertise, project management capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for creating engaging and effective learning experiences.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and manage the full training development lifecycle.
  • Create eLearning content using Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, and similar tools.
  • Respond to LMS inquiries related to compliance training requirements, enrollments, assignments, completions, and general user support.
  • Generate and distribute compliance training completion reports.
  • Maintain training records, course documentation, and supporting materials for audits.
  • Support compliance training administration activities and special projects.
  • Assist with Workday Learning/LMS transition activities, including testing, validation, issue identification, and issue resolution.
  • Conduct content reviews and system functionality testing before LMS launches and updates.
  • Apply adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and best practices in training development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external partners to develop effective training curricula.
  • Review and update existing training materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Manage competing priorities, solve problems, and provide support to end users and team members as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of related professional experience.
  • 2+ years of instructional design experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong experience with Articulate Storyline and related eLearning development tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Cornerstone SBX LMS.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality results.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • High level of technical proficiency and troubleshooting capability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday Learning.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Additional instructional design expertise, including animation, video production, and multimedia development.
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Excel and Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of HTML.
  • Understanding of the ADDIE instructional design methodology.
  • Relevant industry experience.

Experience Requirements

The Specialist level typically requires:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily works in a standard office environment.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, including sitting or standing for up to 50% of the workday.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial or manufacturing facilities may be required, including exposure to varying temperatures, loud equipment, materials, chemicals, and environments requiring personal protective equipment (PPE).
