    Job Summary

    The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for managing food safety programs and

    ensuring compliance with FDA/USDA regulations. Overseeing Quality department,

    updating HACCP program, conducting Audits, corrective actions and training QA team and

    production team.

    An ideal candidate must be able to work variable hours, including weekends, in alignment

    with business needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    Ensure full compliance with all government FDA/USDA/SQF food safety regulations and

    maintain highest possible food safety ratings.

    Create, update and revise food safety, sanitation, maintenance policies, procedures, and

    training programs to ensure compliance with all relevant FDA/USDA and customer

    regulations.

    Approve the release of raw materials, packaging components, and finished products once

    all quality requirements have been met. Implement and manage the product "hold" policy

    for any non-conforming items.

    Lead costumer complaint investigations, conducting and reporting non-conformances,

    deviations, and out-of-specification results.

    Capable to use root cause analysis to develop and implement corrective and preventive

    actions for internal and 3rd party Audits.

    Manage environmental monitoring program and sanitation procedures to ensure all

    requirements are met

    Supervise the review and approve QA/Production documents like CCP, CP, preventative

    program, label verification, Sanitation, environmental and maintenance

    Perform, Review and document Food Safety (CCP) and quality documentation per

    procedure.

    Monitor labeling department, review and verify labels based on specifications

    Capable for label ingredient change, Nutritional facts and Allergen (s)

    Capable to follow up with Supplier Chain program by updating specifications, 3rd party

    certifications and Letter of Guarantee's

    Must be able to work variable hours, including weekends, in alignment with business

    needs.

    Requirements:

    Must be HACCP and PCQI Certified

    Bachelor's degree in food science/microbiology/public health or any related field

    Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field

    Recommendations:

    SQFI Certification

    Knowledge and experience in food microbiology, food safety, sanitation systems

    Problem solving/Analyses/Decision Making.
