ROLE AND PURPOSE: Support emergent bilingual learners and their families throughout the enrollment process and as a pivotal partner in enhancing students' academic achievement and language acquisition. Foster meaningful collaboration with community organizations, district and campus representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure that emergent bilingual learners have equitable access to innovative programs and educational opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in education, Communications, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution (preferred).
- Texas Teacher's Certification with credentials in Bilingual/ESL (preferred)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Experience:
- Three years of experience with emergent bilingual students and families (preferred)
- Experience planning family engagement initiatives and collaborating with community organizations and agencies.
- Knowledge and experience in presenting professional learning and parent education sessions.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (or other district languages, as applicable).
- Ability to plan, organize, and facilitate family workshops and training sessions.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate educational information in family-friendly language.

- Knowledge of compliance regulations at the state and federal level regarding bilingual education, district policies, and current LPAC procedures (preferred)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
I. INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
- Develop and implement a districtwide family engagement program for families of emergent bilingual students.
- Ensure parents clearly understand academic programs, graduation requirements, and campus expectations to effectively support their child's success.
- Educate families about bilingual education, language acquisition, graduation pathways, college and career readiness, literacy, and available district programs.
- Serve as a liaison between families, campuses, and district departments.
- Coordinate interpretation and translation support for district and campus events.
- Develop family communication materials in multiple languages .Assist with outreach efforts related to enrollment, program information, and parent meetings.
- Coordinate districtwide events that celebrate multilingualism, cultural diversity, and family engagement.
- Maintain records, participation data, and program documentation required for federal and district reporting.
- Support compliance with district, state, and federal requirements related to family engagement and Title III.
- Collaborate with departments such as Student Services, Counseling, Special Education, Early Childhood, and Communications to ensure coordinated support for multilingual families.
- Utilize virtual platforms to expand access to parent learning opportunities.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through surveys, participation data, and stakeholder feedback, and recommend continuous improvements.
- Provide parents and guardians with timely information regarding available district and external services that support academic achievement and family well-being.
- Assist the World Languages Director/Coordinator with data tracking and analysis, including monitoring attendance and student performance across content areas to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Coordinate collaboratively with the school district Newcomers Center, Family and Community Engagement Department, and Dropout Prevention team, among others, to expand educational opportunities and target support for emergent bilingual students.
- Consult with students and families to address social, family, and emotional needs, connecting them with appropriate resources when necessary.
- Support school personnel, emergent bilingual learners, and their families with enrollment procedures, attendance concerns, and other school-related matters to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing engagement.
- Coordinate and lead efforts to provide supplemental instructional activities designed to prepare bilingual and ESL students to be successful in kindergarten and Grade 1 (BEK-1).
II. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION CLIMATE
- Ability to effectively communicate with emergent bilingual students and adults about psycho/social topics.
- Provide parent meetings and written communications in various languages to support parents of emergent bilingual students.
- Keep campuses informed of parents programs and initiaves available to increase family involvement activities available for Immigrant families
- Plan and implement parent, family, and community involvement activities for immigrant families
- Provide parents with community resources and updated information regarding campus and district
III. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT
- Display a strong ability to work independently as self-starter with excellent time management skilss
- Knowledge of current research in second language acquisition and language minority education
IV. ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
- Exhibit a high proficiency in computer usage and instruction technology
V. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
- Design, coordinate, and deliver professional development focused on best practices, compliance requirements, and instructional strategies that support emergent bilingual learners and promote academic and linguistic sucess
- Serve as liason between colleges, universities, and technical schools for graduation and overage emerent bilingual students
VI. MISCELLANEOUS
- Perfoms other duties as assigned by the World Languages Director/Coordinator
- Participate in meetings and special events as assined
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
VII. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide coaching and development sessions with assigned staff
- Promote continuous improvement among the professional staff
- Direct and coordinate technical assistance to campus personnel, central office personnel, and community agencies to encourage overall improved performance and contonuos improvement
