Overview: The Specialist, Membership Engagement supports the implementation of membership engagement strategies and programs for the SHRM Northern California Community. Working closely with the Director and cross-functional teams, this role coordinates initiatives that strengthen member engagement, support membership growth and retention, and enhance the overall member experience.
The Specialist serves as a primary resource for volunteer leaders, members, and prospective members by coordinating programs, communications, sponsorship activities, and community engagement efforts. This position plays an important role in building relationships, supporting volunteer committees, coordinating events, and ensuring the successful execution of initiatives aligned with the California Community's goals and objectives.
Work Environment
Hybrid Schedule (3 Days In-Office/2 Days Remote)
This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with Tuesday through Thursday in office and Monday and Friday remote. Employees must be available during standard business hours, with core hours beginning between 8:00-9:00 a.m. and concluding between 5:00-6:00 p.m. local time.

Requirements:
Education
Experience
Three (3) or more years of experience in membership services, association management, nonprofit organizations, customer engagement, marketing, or a related field.
Experience coordinating programs, projects, meetings/events, and volunteer activities involving multiple stakeholders.
Experience implementing engagement, marketing, or communication initiatives.
Experience using social media platforms for organizational or business communications.
Experience working with volunteers, boards, committees, or member-based organizations preferred.
