    Summary



    The LED Specialist is responsible for onsite execution of LED equipment for events across the country. This includes following safe setup, run-of-show, and dismantle procedures. During load-in and show, this person sometimes manages content for the client. The role will also be assigned pre-production design responsibilities for several shows that they execute.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities



    + Assembles and programs LED walls

    + Works closely with client specs, sales staff, operations, and project managers to develop LED designs and to coordinate pre-production, onsite, and post-production activities in line with event budget

    + Creates wiring diagrams and LED plots for shows based on budgeted designs; ensures on-site personnel have and understand this information

    + Functions as onsite Client Contact and/or Crew Chief

    + Directs the onsite crew that include full and/or part time labor including specialists, technicians, and union employees

    + Escalates on-site grievances up to and including notifying hiring manager if anyone needs to be released from their duties

    + Submits show reports for each event to Senior Leadership, which include issues and successes on show, and evaluation of labor performance, which will be used to determine future assignments

    + Ensures that company safety guidelines are followed and implemented on show site

    + Directs load-in, load-out, install, and dismantle of equipment

    + Responsible for ensuring the correct specification, setup, and optimization of meeting rooms, exhibits, show management, and general sessions LED systems as needed

    + Directs the installation, optimization, and monitoring of the LED system during the event

    + Recommends LED personnel during scheduling process to ensure company resources are used effectively and follow company procedures and employee policies

    + Performs show-site duties for high profile or technically complicated with significant entertainment or high-production value including: directing show-site labor, operating equipment, troubleshooting, and managing the fit and finish of the production


    Education & Experience



    + High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in related field preferred

    + Minimum 3 years experience working in LED production with a minimum of 1 year focused on corporate events; or equivalent combination of education, certification and experience

    + Ability to engineer instructions in written, oral, or diagram form

    + Ability to communicate how to install various related equipment

    + Advanced understanding of the fundamentals of LED, formats, aspect resolutions, and connector types

    + Ability to install and troubleshoot complex LED systems within an event

    + Ability to direct LED crew

    + Advanced understanding of LED systems and optimization

    + Experience with Barco Encore/E2 and/or Christie Sypder switching systems a plus

    + Experience drawing system design in AutoCad or VectorWorks

    + Experience designing large-scale LED systems with company inventory

    + Experience with advanced video networking and media server integration

    + Experience with projector pixel mapping a plus
