    About the Role
     
    Specialist, Events & Programsis responsible for developing and executing Chamber events, including Toast of Seattle, Business After Hours, Industry Insights, Young Professional Network, Councilmember Coffee Chat and Chair Dinner events. This role will be responsible for supporting registration functions for the majority of Chamber events and may be assigned additional responsibilities including events, programs, or projects, depending on the candidate’s experience.

    What You’ll Do
    Events
    • Manage planning and execution of monthly and annual Chamber programs, including logistics, vendor/speaker coordination, revenue generation, sponsorship support, securing in-kind contributions (goods, services, venues) and budget oversight with the Director of Events and Programs.
      • Primary lead: Toast of Seattle, Business After Hours, Industry Insights, Young Professional Network, Councilmember Coffee Chat events and Chair Dinner events.
      • Support additional and ad hoc events as needed.
    • Collaborate across Membership, Communications, External Affairs, and community partners to market programs and drive member engagement.
    • Partner with Marketing & Communications to promote events and grow participation through strategic outreach, partnerships, and digital channels.
    • Provide administrative support (correspondence, proofreading, website updates, mailings, scheduling, and file management).
    • Coordinate special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
    Registration
    • Manage event registration processes, including customer support and payment processing.
    • Track attendance and maintain accurate participation data.
    • Coordinate onsite registration and event setup to ensure a high-quality attendee experience.
    • Ensure proper registration of complimentary guests.
    • Maintain proficiency in the Chamber’s membership and registration database.
     
    What You Bring
    Experience:
    • 2+ year experience developing events or programs and leading event logistics for an organization, or commensurate experience.
    •  Experience working with small businesses, member-based organizations, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, or community partners preferred.
    • Experience evaluating programs and implementing improvements
    • Experience creating and maintaining tracking reports using spreadsheets; strong database skills including experience with MS Excel and CRMs.
    Technical Skills and Competencies:
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience using CRM, registration, event management, or database systems preferred.
    • Ability to create and maintain accurate tracking reports, registration lists, attendance records, and event/program data.
    • Ability to support event registration processes, including attendee records, payment coordination, complimentary guest tracking, and customer support.
    • Ability to coordinate event logistics, including timelines, vendor communication, materials, setup needs, and onsite registration support.
    • Ability to draft and proofread clear, accurate, and professional event-related materials, correspondence, and basic website or registration content.
    • Ability to use spreadsheets and data systems to track deadlines, participation, sponsorship information, and event/program deliverables.
    • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Employment Details
     
    The Chamber is committed to internal and market equity. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $26.62 - $31.94 hourly, based on experience. The Chamber provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including but not restricted to:
