ROLE AND PURPOSE:

The role of a Specialist - Clerk Support is to provide temporary hands-on training and support for summer registration events. To augment front office staff at campuses for the specific purposes of enrollment and registration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution, required.

Experience:

  • Three years of successful experience with TEA required processes for Enrollment/Withdrawal/Attendance, etc.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Thorough knowledge of administrative software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Apps, Student Information System)
  • Thorough knowledge of TEA required processes for Enrollment/Withdrawal/Attendance and student record management
  • Excellent communication, public relations and organizational skills
  • Bilingual preferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

I. INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT:

  • Determine needs of individual campus office staff and implement one on one assistance and staff development.
  • Ensure a timely response to service requests for software-related issues

II. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE:

  • Visit campuses and administrative offices and community events as scheduled
  • Promote and maintain positive morale among district and campus employees
  • Promote and maintain open and effective communication with campus administrators, their staff, and other employees of the district

III. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT:

  • Promote and maintain department and campus goals that support District goals
  • Participate in long-term District and Campus planning to ensure the effective use of all instructional technologies
  • Maintain up-to-date information concerning new ideas, equipment and programs that support the goals of the campus and district
  • Provide frequent feedback to staff and administrators regarding job-related responsibilities

IV. SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONS:

  • Articulate the District's mission to the community and solicit community support
  • Use appropriate and effective techniques for community and parent involvement

V. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT:

  • Develop and continually improve skills appropriate to the job assignment
  • Seek and accept suggestions from District and Campus personnel to improve services
  • Model behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible

VI. EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE SKILLS

  • Personal computer, printer, fax machine, copier, scanner, and calculator.
  • Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, etc.)
  • Google Suite applications (Docs, G-Mail, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals; standard instructional equipment.
