                                   SPECIALIST, CDE

Our passionate and dedicated team has great pride in serving families and early childhood educators throughout Metro LA. Our team includes directors, case specialists, child development coordinators, coaches and teachers & staff for our West Hollywood Preschool and Pathways LA Child Development Center.

  •   Location: Downtown, Los Angeles 
  •   Schedule: Monday–Friday | 37.5 hours per week | Hybrid – 2 days onsite / 3 days remote 
  •   Starting Rate: $21–$23 per hour, depending on experience and education plus a comprehensive benefits package 
  •   Start Date: Immediately

Are you passionate about supporting families, strengthening early childhood education, and making a meaningful difference in the community? Pathways LA is looking for a Specialist, CDE to join our Child Development Education team. This position plays an important role in supporting families and childcare providers while helping ensure the successful implementation of CDE programs. If you are organized, customer-focused, comfortable working with diverse communities, and have experience in child development or Resource & Referral/Alternative Payment Programs, we would love to hear from you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Specialist, CDE is responsible for implementing the functions of Pathways LA’s Child Development Education programs, including Stage 2, Stage 3, Alternative Payment, and Berendo Program. The position provides case management support to parents, works directly with participating childcare providers, and assists with selected fiscal responsibilities.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of professional experience in child development.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present information to groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using client database software.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Access to a reliable motor vehicle and ability to provide evidence of automobile liability insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in child development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  • Two years of direct experience working in a Resource & Referral (R&R) or Alternative Payment Program.
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Network experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS — STRONGLY PREFERRED
