    The Trading Services Strategy & Planning team helps shape the future of the Trading Services business by supporting strategic decision making, business planning, and execution of key initiatives that drive client growth, engagement, and business performance.

    As a Specialist, Business Strategy, you''ll join a collaborative team that works across Trading Services and Schwab to analyze business performance, identify opportunities, support strategic initiatives, and help deliver meaningful outcomes for our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and learning about financial markets and the brokerage industry.

    What you''ll do

    In this role, you will partner with team members across Trading Services to support strategic planning, business analysis, and project execution activities. Responsibilities may include:

    • Gather, organize, and analyze market, client, and business data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement to help inform strategy.
    • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and Excel-based analyses that support decision making.
    • Assist in the development of presentations and materials for business reviews, planning discussions, and leadership meetings.
    • Support strategic initiatives by conducting research, collecting data, documenting findings, and tracking progress against key milestones.
    • Collaborate with partners across Trading Services and other Schwab teams (Finance, Marketing, Technology, Operations, etc.) to gather information, evaluate opportunities, and support data-driven decision making.
    • Participate in project planning and execution activities, including coordinating deliverables and maintaining project documentation.
    • Develop an understanding of Schwab''s trading platforms, products, clients, and competitive landscape.

    What you have

    Required qualifications

    • Bachelor''s degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning and problem solving.
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel, including working with large datasets, formulas, charts, and basic data analysis techniques.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Interest in financial markets, investing, trading, and the brokerage industry.
    • Interest in pursuing foundational securities registrations as part of professional development.

    Preferred qualifications

    • Internship, academic project, campus leadership, or work experience involving data analysis, business analysis, finance, economics, consulting, research, or project coordination.
    • Experience creating presentations in PowerPoint and communicating findings or recommendations.
    • Familiarity with Excel tools such as PivotTables, lookups, data visualization, or basic financial modeling.
    • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
