To provide patient appointment scheduling, reception, clerical and customer service functions to all patients, visitors, and employees. These functions include: scheduling appointments, procedures, patient reception, appointment check-in, insurance verification and other related duties as assigned. This position requires a thorough knowledge of scheduling practices for Lakeview and Regions hospitals, including OR scheduling functions that are related to breast surgery, medical/surgical terminology, and must have good communication and interpersonal skills. This work may vary in percentage of time per function on a daily basis.
Schedule: 1.0 FTE - 40 hrs weekly: Monday-Friday - 8:00am-4:30pm
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
4 years' experience in a direct customer/patient service position and computer/data entry required, and 2 years' experience with patient scheduling in a customer support related role.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to write, read, and speak English clearly.
Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience to both internal and external customers.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and maintain composure in a stressful, ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
Ability to prioritize and navigate multiple duties and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge and adherence of HIPAA, organizational policies, and department protocols to protect patient health information.
Strong organizational skills and ability to function both as a team member and autonomously.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
2 years' experience in healthcare setting.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
None
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
EPIC medical records experience or healthcare related computer programs.
Competency in medical/surgical terminology
Ability to schedule radiologic appointments.
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in a personable and professional manner
